This week's episode traversed a broad musical landscape crossing several genres and musical styles. All of the musical hopscotching to one side, one instrument that was constant across a number of compositions was the guitar—both clean and effected. From John Scofield's latest contribution, to Kevin Eubanks, Oz Noy, William Tyler, and even some early classic ZZ Top with Billy Gibbons! The sonic diversity of the guitar makes it such a musical chameleon which is probably why, like this week's show illustrates, it can appear in so many unique musical settings. Rest assured, it was not all about the six-string this week. A number of new releases were also featured that warrant deeper listening.
