Crimson (playlist #144)

"crimson cassettes" by gbmediadesign

This was a week of fabulous finds. First off, excellent new releases filled the airwaves at the show’s outset. Checkout this week’s playlist to see what was shared. The show then pivoted on a new release by Delta Saxophone Quartet, Bowie, Berlin & Beyond which features an exceptional cover of Brian Eno’s, Music for Airports. The balance of the show then explored tracks from Robert Fripp & Brian Eno’s Live In Paris 28.05.1975 a three-disc set that I recently acquired. It is a looper’s delight (highly recommend it) and it is a vital historic document of the looping/experimental period of Eno and Fripp. The show ended with a dip into more Crimsony goodness with tracks from (I think) the overlooked 1995 King Crimson release, Thrak—a prog essential listen.

Checkout this week’s playlist to see all the music that what was shared. Don't forget that you can listen to all of the music from the last episode, “Tape” (click here). This week's artwork, “crimson cassette” is an altered/remixed photograph by yours truly and you can also see it here.

As always, thanks for listening!
