A Tale of Two Shows

“untitled” by gbmediadesign

This week’s show featured a long overdo set of Emerson, Lake & Palmer (ELP) tracks from their amazing, musically relevant, 1973 release, Brain Salad Surgery. Karn Evil 9, in particular, provided a great backdrop for discussing the music of ELP, as well as the passing of keyboard virtuoso, Keith Emerson (a year ago), and bassist, guitarist, and vocalist, Greg Lake (last December). Long overdue. Also featured on this week’s show was an extended set of sound/music pieces by artists who incorporate field recordings to create rich, percussive, and expansive sound landscapes challenging our aural perceptions of sound and music.

Don't forget that you can listen to all of the music from the last episode, “Adjust the Frequency” (click here). This week's artwork, “untitled” is a detail of larger abstract comic by yours truly.
